Whats a good compact camera?

Needing one that takes sharp images, good zoom, fun settings, excellent video and I can put it in my pocket?

any excellent recommendations?

without knowing your budget, i would simply stick to well known "camera" brands. Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Fuji etc. I have bought numerous Sony cameras (dont ask me why) and they have all been dog poo.

£300 ish, maybe £350 if its excellent

Canon SX280
Nikon S9500
Olympus SH50
Fuji F900

Shortlisted due to decent optical zooms, good megapixels, price bracket, size.no need to spend over £300 IMHO..

Depending on how you plan on viewing the results, you mighty consider a Lumix if you have a Panasonic TV with an SD slot, as the card goes straight in and you can view the results on the TV (unless they've dropped that feature). Our one is probably nearest to the DMC-TZ35, haven't bothered to update it as it does all we need

Fantastic camera, great images and a brilliant zoom

And they look cool too
