the same thing that they always do when young mums turn up in jeans with their 'juniors' and sit in the bar with their tablets....smile and say nothing (well we have changed the weekend rules for jeans now, but that's not the point!
however, there's no doubt that some members, at some clubs, would say something! I prefer such an approach to rank hyprocrisy...

Take him into the Pro shop and make him buy some smart casual gear. Not like he can't afford it. Do you really think he would turn up at a Club dressed like that Bob, or are you stirring the pot ?

Depends if he wanted to play golf or not.... either way I'd suggest he's made welcome and he's 23 yrs old. Its a brave and somewhat misguided man who tells one the worlds best talents to bog off and put a collar on!
Personally Id offer that we have lots of Titleist/Footjoy equipment in the Pro shop he could borrow

Maybe an extreme example but just wondered if Rules are Rules at some clubs and will not be waived for anybody.

A friend told me the story of when the MD of the hotel chain that owned Turnberry turning up on their range wearing jeans.
Everyone turned a blind eye but when he later found out that jeans were not allowed he was not pleased with the staff for allowing him on.

can't see any pro golfer turning up at any course like that right enough as i'm sure they respect the rules. however i would be pissed if he never paid to play haha

We have relaxed our rules on denim so I guess we'd let him in. Wouldn't be allowed on the course like that though
