I'm a "must win" but all my rounds are friendly rounds - and I can see no reason that the two should not be compatible. My first objective is to beat the scores of whatever the 3 others in my group are achieving. If I am managing to do that, then I concentrate beating them by even more, on the grounds that some bandit or other is going to spoil my day.
All that in the most friendly manner possible.

I'm in option 2.

Always want to do well in comps and disappointed if I play badly.

However enjoy a social round where the score really doesn't matter, as long as I'm enjoying the round/company/banter.

If its a strokeplay event I like to be as high up the results sheet as possible. If its going a bit pear shaped I fight to stay in the buffer zone.

If its matchplay its win and win big. The round will be amicable but if you beat me you've earned it coz it sure as 'ell won't have been given to you.

As long as I play well then I'm happy. If I beat my handicap in a comp and someone else beats theirs by more then fair play to them, nothing I can do about that so I'm not going to be disappointed.

The only exception is if me and my usual partners are playing against one another in a "friendly" game, in which case I don't care how badly I'm hacking it round, as long as they're hacking it around worse!
