what to wear?

On private couses do you have to wear trousers or can you wear waterproofs. I have the chance to play at maxstoke in birmingham and I do not have any trousers but have a pair of waterproofs and havent got the momey to buy any golf trousers.

Why do you need golf trousers. Any pair of ordinary trousers will suffice

Errrr......you can wear waterproofs, but if it's as hot as it's been down here lately, people are going to look at you a bit odd.
I bought a couple of pairs of trousers in Matalan recently. Pinstriped black ones, Jeff Banks 24/7 collection. About £7.99 a pair and the look, and fit, fantastic.
You don't have to spend a fortune on "golf" trousers.
I'd rather shell out £7.99 than look a prat in waterproofs to be honest

Yeah but they hang terribly.
The ASDA ones look the mutts nutts and only cost £1 more.
I'm off to Matalan to buy some more Jeff Banks ones this morning. Bet they haven't got any in my size...

Want to get a couple of sleeveless jumpers now that the chillier mornings/evenings have arrived.
Went to buy one at Hankley Common on Tuesday (it was a bit nippy first thing). Saw a nice one with the club crest on, picked it up. My size, but not my price....£54.95!! WTF was that all about?????

JJB have some for £6.00 each. That's more my price.

I generally wear waterproof trouser throughout winter and change into my jeans or chinos for a post round sesh afterwards.

Sainsburys trousers are good as well.

i normally just wear M&S chinos -about £15 a pair or £10 from their outlet stores.

I did get two pairs of cotton traders chinos recently for £30 - they have soem kind of coating on that doesnt make them waterproof as such but they are water repellant and do seem to keep the inside dry in a shower. Obviously if its lashing it down they get soaking!

I have bought a load of tops and sweaters recently from TK maxx,great value. If anyone here is ever in vicinity of mackinnon mills,Coatbridge have a look at there golf clothing in there as well,you can get some good bargains.

there are so many good and cheap places to get trousers from
i would allways use M&S, TK Max then sports world

so know need to wear waterproofs
