my dad just said to me what irons would you like to get

Ping rapture v2
or
mizuno Mx-100

what should i get because i like them both.. what is the best iron out of them 2 sets of irons ?

ye i have told him :) but i have not tryed theses 2 sets of clubs !!! so thats why i am asking you guys.. if anyone has them or has hit them could you tell me some info please ? :)

What a bloody ridiculous question!!

You're comparing a beginners set of irons (the MX-100's) that cost £260 to a set aimed at the low to mid handicapper (the rapture's) that cost £550

No comparison whatsoever.

ermmm so i might have too then.. ping raptures FTW !!!!!

Why would you want to change anyway just because you can. I thought you were hitting your current irons really well. The word spoilt jumps to mind.

ye i can hit them nice but i think its time for a change... i have had the R7's since the day they came out !

Thats' my argument Dave. The R7's aren't that old and technology in irons hasn't moved on that significantly that it is anything other than buying because daddy can. Great that he has the cash and wants to buy them for you but I think you won't find much difference between the clubs you have now and the makes you are looking at

Yes. I say buy new irons for a good reason, like I did, changing back from graphite G.I. irons to steel less-G.I. irons......
I suppose the R7 TPs are probably a bit fierce, so I suppose there is some method if he's struggling.

If someone fancies a change, then let them change I say.

Back to the OP, the Rapture's ARE in the same category as the MX-100's in this month TG magazine 59 irons tested section as 'Super Game Improvement Irons'.

Get this months mag. mate and have a look. Have you also considered the MX-200's? Much better feel than the 100's and many advocates on here.

Yep, they are a good iron and more in line (pricewise) to the Pings.
Not quite such a big head on them as the 100's and less of a game improvers clubs, although they have all the features that a higher handicapper would want.

Agreed with some of the above posts.

I would consider both the MX-100 and the Rapture V2 Game Improvement irons. Have you seen the size of the V2's!! Just bacuse they retail at over £500 doesn't make them for better players.

Also, as pointed out above, if he is playing R7 TP's, and is a high handicapper, I don't think these are probably the clubs best suited to his game, and would certainly benefit from moving to something like the MX-100 or V2's, or even G10's.

The R7 irons arnt even old and if your getting on with them what is thepoint in changing.

If it aint broke dont fix it.
