What the forum needs

I constantly attempt to check the forum on my phone at work but give up with the length of time it takes with graphics for advertising, avatars and pics.

Would it be possible for Golf Monthly \ IPC to get a reduced graphics \text only site that can be viewed on mobile devices? I'm sure a programmer worth his salt could knock it up in a few weeks.

Facebook has it's mobile version which is great and one that could be used as a template.

Just an idea with more and more people going mobile.

Good call Andy. I dont use it much on the mobile for that reason plus I actually do some work when Im supposed to.

I use an Iphone with the forum and it seems to work ok. What phone are you using and can you do anything in settings to make it work faster?

I'm using 3G out and about and haven't noticed it being a problem to be honest. Interesting to see if it can be done from this existing software.

I agree with Andy a mobile version, or an iphone application would be ideal. Also can we get rid of all this fj crap down the sides, its starting to really really annoy me now!

I use my iPhone and have only ever logged on from a normal computer probably twice since I joined. I don't see it a problem on the iPhone but would be curious to see what the iPhone app would be like!

Works great on my nokia 5800 so no problems here. I can't actually remember the last time I used my PC to read the forum

I wonder how many mostly use the forum from their mobiles as opposed to a laptop or desktop?

Must admit that I mostly do it on the iPhone, though making long posts is annoying, as is trying to use the 'quote' function when the original post is quite long. But generally it's okay.

I've got a Nokia E71 (yes I know I'm a luddite) and it takes forever to load yet I can happily zip through twitter and facebook on it. To be honest I only scan the site in work between meetings and in breaks and usually use the PC at night

I use my Blackberry Bold and I find the forum works very well.

At 3 in the morning at work, reading the forum is a good way to stay awake. Companies should provide all shift workers with a mobile for this purpose alone.
