Used to have a power fade - alright a bloody great slice but over the years its straightened itself out to a nice gentle draw.

Straight is the hardest shot in golf, and yet when I am on song, straight is what I am.

Playing badly, I fade, or snap hook.

I never know what is coming til I am 3 holes into the round.

Pear shaped......as in "it's all gone a bit......"

Most of the above, traded hooks for slices over the last few months. Damn lessons....he said he'd cure my push!!!

I have L to R gentle fade but also Draw when I chose, I prefer the fade as I can hit the ball good distance and it lands softer.

I can also slice and hook.lol.

When I first started playing I faded the ball, which could escalate into a slice if I wasn't careful.
As my handicap started to come down I found that my "stock" shot had changed to a very nice, controlled draw.
This has now gone and I find myself hitting the ball straight, but without quite the power I was getting before (I put it down to age!)...
If I am getting tired towards the end of a round and my swing starts playing up I find that I am either pushing the ball out to the right slightly, or the fade returns.

I think it would be better to ask what peoples natural shot shape was. Mine is certainly a slice however with a bit of thought I would say about 6 times out of 10 I can get the ball moving right to left, which means I could tick draw. Are these shapes being given by design or default?

I voted straight. When I'm playing well I generaly hit the ball straight, and can even fade the ball to order, but can never draw.

On a bad day......I try and hit the ball to hard and come over the top, this produces either a staight pull, or a slice.

I think I need to tick all 3 lol

Most people do hit the ball from left to right - mainly because they are not strong enough on the downswing.....the important bit here is though 'where does the ball start'...

I fade (starts left and come back to the right) is not that far away from a pull (starts left and goes left) and is caused by the same swing but with the hands in different places.....

I nasty horrible fade has been turned into a a nice draw(most of the time, not always)

Drills drills drills is what I did to get the draw shape. I can still fase it though if I am not careful.
