What kind of wild life is present on your course?

Geese: egyption and canadian
A pair of swans
Moles
A couple of types of deer
Pheasants
The occasional spotting of the greater crested Homer
Apparently some rare newts in the ESA
A Heron
Some type of bird of prey, possibly red kites but that's a guess.
A woodpecker, although I've only ever heard it, not seen it
Grass snakes and adders

That's about it

Yep they are red kites. We also have/had parrots in the dead tree by the 10th.

Bambi, thumper, occasional fox or badger, plenty Heelan Coos and dobbins in the fields near the turn and some birds.

A pheasant seems to have taken up residence on the range, whilst collecting balls a few weeks ago I heard a loud sharp noise coming from near the hitting area. I turned expecting to see my bag about to fall over but what I was actually hearing was the pheasant attacking his reflection in the mirror. I think he lost:D

Horses, millions of 'em. I suppose being in the middle of Aintree racecourse (home of the greatest steeplechase in the world) kind of explains.
Oh, an at least 1 kestral

Plenty deer and various types of birds etc (no idea what kind but parakeets, doves & kestrels among them, lots of wader type birds mess around on the fairways & even had a few chickens a couple of months back and a fair few dodo’s (but they may have been misidentified)

Skinks, geckos and lizards all very popular and often seen, as is the mongoose. Couple of 100 year old giant tortoise, normally behind the 9th green.

Plenty giant snails and burrowing crabs and also see macaque monkeys (they eat the crabs) That makes for a weird drive on the 18th when a troop are sitting in the fairway bunker crab hunting!

Geese
Foxes
Geese
Mallard
Rabbits
More geese
Coot
Moorhen
Geese
Geese
Various small birds
Geese
Parakeets (not parrots Homer)
Geese

Oh, and did l mention the damned geese...

On the three older courses here, we can regularly see:

Desert Rats
Lizards
Cats
Wild dogs
Hoopoe - Stunning birds, but make a mess of greens
Camel - surrounding areas obviously
Desert foxes
Deer

The newest course is built amongst a safari park. On the 9th fairway, you can look into an enclosure and see Pygmy hippo and ostriches, amongst lots of other weird and wonderful creatures. Behind the course is where the giraffe, zebra and other safari animals are kept.

Nothing quite as exotic as Boar and Wolves but we have seen....

Fox
Badger
Wabbit
Hare
Red Kite
Buzzard
Sparrowhawk
Kestrel
Peregrine
Green Woodpecker
Heron
Little Egret
Muntjac
Another bigger Deer
Grass Snake
Crayfish
Along with all the common stuff that you see anywhere

This, without the crayfish, but with adders and parakeets. Oh, and dogs, which probably are meant to be wild, but often seem so, as do the owners.

Usual stuff for us in suburban Berkshire but on holiday in Hunstanton I was walking by the links there one evening and saw a barn owl hunting in the twilight. Magical. Also one misty morning playing Brockenhurst Manor a magnificent stag walked out of the woods and stood in the middle of the fairway and just looked at us disdainfully, as befits the lord of all he surveys, before moving sedately on his way.

We have Dolphins and Poroises that can be seen from the course as 7 holes run by the side of the Moray Firth.
apart from that;
The odd seal
Ospreys
Buzzards
Red Kites
Sparrow Hawks
all sorts of Geese in winter
All sorts of small birds in summer
Seabirds
Waders
Rabbits
Foxes
Stoats and weasles
Partridge and pheasants
A Cat
Deer
Yanks

Oh and hundreds of bloody rooks and crows.

We've got foxes, squirrels, rabbits, pheasants, peacocks, a woodpecker, geese, seagulls, some kind of birds of prey that eat the bunnies and the lesser spotted Muirhouse Ned that wanders in from time-to-time.

Old Course:-
Canada Geese
A Woodpecker (could be heard but rarely seen)
Family of Swans (oddly 1 year the father separated from the mother and got together with a daughter!)
A vast array of waterfowl
A Heron
Badgers
Rabbits
Squirrels
Hunting Hounds (heard long before seen!)
A stunning bright orange Fox (far too clever for the hounds)

New Course:-
Mangey city Foxes
Parakeets
Cats
Squirrels

Bit of a difference between a course miles from civilisation and a course where the city centre is visible 200 yards from the gates!

Cyclists who don't know the land access code
dogs who have lost their walkers
walkers who have lost their dogs
surfers on the way to the beach
Tourists looking for a nice picnic spot
The list goes on.....

I didn't mention in earlier post because its not really the course but an evening range session under the floodlights reveals a healthy population of huge bats hunting down the thousands of mosquito's and other winged beasties that are attracted by the lights, pretty cool to see

At a previous course I counted 11 different 'flavours' of bird-life on the lake between the tee and green, while waiting for the green to clear.

Craigielaw had/has a (Mad March) Hare as its logo - and there are over 30 pairs breeding on/within it. Also Skylarks, Swallows, House Martins and the nearby sanctuary has an incredible array of wildlife - squadrons of Geese landing in late Summer being the most stunning to me. Occasional (Red?) Deer cross it and others in the neighbourhood - managed to collide with one that caused over 5k damage, and a whole family scampered across my path on the approach to the 13th at Muirfield once.

Encountered a number of peculiar looking very large rodents at Les Bordes - which used to have to repair the deer hoof-prints on several holes each morning!
