Hi People!
I always carry an Adams A4 OS #3 Hybrid that has 19 degrees of loft and unless it is very windy I carry the same model #4 Hybrid at 22 degrees.
I also have in the same model a 26 degree #5 hybrid.
Unlike many people on here, I hit my 3 and 4 Hybrid the same distance as my regular 3 and 4 Iron despite the irons having a touch more loft and a shorter steel shaft.
I sometimes use the 26 degree hybrid preferring the more compact heel to toe look of my 27 degree 5 Iron. Although from a design point then #5H should be more forgiving. It basically comes down to how is my swing feeling that day.
That said, I would like to stick to one or the other to be a little more consistent in my club set up.
So, thoughts, please. Have you found such a lofted hybrid to be useful or the 5 Iron (or equivalent iron) Do you think there is a point of diminishing returns the more lofted a hybrid gets compared to a well designed iron it is supposed to replace.
All thoughts welcome!
Craig
