What is the worst golf related christmas present you have recieved?

I know mine has to be an arsenal headcover. Basically a relative couldn't remember if I supported the Mighty Tottenham Hotspur or the gooners so I got the Arsenal headcover.

It was sold to a mate for £5

There are many more such as donnay/topflite balls etc but that is the worst.

Sow how about you guys/gals?

Last year I got a box of 15 Ryder golf balls. I only play HX Tours, ProV1's or Nike One's and as I already have about 350 practice balls I really didn't need these abominations!

Did well getting a fiver for that junk medwayjon!

This is my first year playing golf so no golf junk yet thank goodness.

As sports men and women this is one of the things we have to put up with, crappy birthday cards with a golfer etc on, and things like rugby ball soap on a rope.

a golf jacket emblazened with our club crest, the only thing was it was a size or two too big and I also never wear a jacket on the course, it went back for credit in the pro shop

On the other hand, the same year, I nearly cried for joy when I received a hardback version of Nick Faldo's autobiography, signed by the man himself;-

"To John, Good Golfing"

Was stunned and speechless for most of the day...and it inspired me to get down to single figures for the first time ever within 4 months. The girlfriend had queued up at a booksigning in Edinburgh the previous August. Now THAT'S a good present.

one of those things that fish your ball out of a lake!!!
even worse when you consider I play at a course thats only water feature is a ditch a yard wide and a yard deep!!
Not sure where it is now,maybe put it up as a prize at our annual golf holiday,cant remember and frankly dont care!

Last Christmas my wee mum (I call her minimum) got me a pair of DUNLOP golf shoes. honestly folks, they were like a sandwich box. They were that stiff, I fell down two stairs and they snapped

This will be my first golfing christmas so dreading the tat that I could end up with. Why do people not appreciate that golf balls are not boring and make a superb present

This is my second golf christmas, having announced my intention of starting just in time for last year. Best pressie was from my son - a years subscription to GM.

This year could be problems. Let's face it we've bought most of the worthwhile toys (and lots of the rubbish) and for the non-golfer one golf ball looks much like another.
