What is the worst condition you have been in but still played golf?

Second degree burns on my leg from a barbecue incident the day before. I was so pumped up on painkillers I didn't realise the damage I was doing to my skin. When I went back to the doc's to get the dressing changed the next day I got such a bollocking and was told in no uncertain terms not to play for at least two months.

With a broken leg. Ok, possibly not still broken but still in plaster which was due to come off a couple of days after the lads' european jolly - and which there was no way i was missing.

Followed closed by the morning after the day we discovered there was a beer festival in Mons...

Played with severe neck pain once. Worse decision ever in golf. I was playing in a quarter final singles matchplay. Pumped myself up with painkillers that worked for about 9 holes. I took some more that lasted about 5 holes. I was then Dormy 4 at that point and thought it would be over soon. No it wasn't! I eventually halved the 18th. But in all honesty it wasn't worth it. The last 4 holes were absolute agony.
Not only did that decision to play stop me playing for a few weeks but I never really recovered the feeling in my muscles in my neck/shoulder. One of the reasons I gave up golf for 18 years. Fortunately the neck/shoulder did eventually heal in that period.

I once played the last 9 holes of a 36 hole stroke play comp with a full blown migraine.
Amazingly I only dropped a couple of shots even though on occasions I could not see the ball I was hitting.

Please dont try and play golf if you have had a urinary stent fitted "up there"

Its very unwise and if wearing light coloured trews the "port wine" stain is very hard to remove

People point at you also and snigger :(

back in may 79 i had played football on the sturday and had a 36 hole comp on the sunday, ten minutes from the final whistle and a heavy tackle just below my right knee saw mw subbed. hurt like hell but drove home and took a few painkillers ,sunday morning comes and dad says you playing today ,dam right i was .played all 36 holes and my leg felt like a really heavy weight and ached like i have never known. i wnt to work on the monday and after a couple of hours the pain was just too much .i drove home and got dad to run me to hospital, the x-ray showed the leg was broken fibula, clean through .
so i think that makes my worst condidition of playing golf.

Have played Southerness and Seacroft on the very cusp of recycling the contents of one's stomach.

Had to march off Seacroft around the 14th and rapidly get into the changing rooms to inspect the facilities. At Southerness the inclement weather eventually blewe all other distractions away!

Hard core drinker me

Due to an ongoing medical problem, I did once play with enough painkillers in my bloodstream to stun a rhino.

Can't remember 80% of the round but according to the others I played with the biggest smile on my face and was only 3-4 off my handicap.

I got hit in the neck by a sliced drive from an adjacent tee. After I picked myself up I decided to carry on playing. For the next 12 holes I didn't really think too much of it, but the next day I couldn't move my right arm. A quick visit to the quack revealed severe muscle separation between the neck and shoulder.. All made much worse by carrying on playing...

I hurt my back lifting my trolley out the car before a medal this year. Went to the range, struggling to walk at first. Spent half an hour hitting balls, started off yelping in pain at 3/4 swings but eventually was able to hit full shots with a certain amount of discomfort.

Played the medal, couldn't swing hard at anything, shot level par. Might be a lesson in that....

Played after an all night lock in for the Lennox Lewis fight v Holyfield (second time) and was in a mess from start to finish. Never again and the hangover was the stuff of nightmares. We started with 16 on the course and only 11 finished all 18
