In your opinions what golf tip or swing thought has helped you the most through your days or years of playing?
Anything from keep your head still or maybe grip it and rip it etc...
what has worked best for you.
If we share our experiences it might spur another of us on to do well.!!

For short pitches never take a small backswing. Always give it at least a half swing to get the momentum going on the downswing, ball slightly back in the stance and you should never be short.

Take more club.
95% of trouble is short of the green, but men being men if a gargantuan effort with a 9 iron will just make it why be so sensible as to hit an 8 iron instead?

Probably the most underrated tip going.

For me.......(drum roll).....

1) The best tip I ever learned/picked up was to get my grip 100% right, if the shots aren't going the correct way, it's the swing, not the grip.
2) Flex the knees and keep 'em flexed during the backswing, improved my strike SO much in the early days.

Couldn't agree more. Most greens are long enough for you to take one more club, flush it perfect and still be on the back of the green.

Last game I played I forced myself to club up twice, both holes I shot it past the flag but made a birdie on one. Seems illogical but even better advice in the winter...

definately helping me this winter!

Relax and flow.

Before every shot i say this (in my head when in public) In an attempt to emulate Ernie Els

Maybe more for an older player and/or a high handicapper - or is it just me?
On a full shot, turn your shoulders so that your back is to the target.
When my golf goes 'off' it's because I don't turn enough.
At the moment I tell myself to turn as much has I can - then turn some more.

Ali, I'm with you on this.....it's impossible to turn too much (unless you are a contortionist of some sort!), all my best round have been played with the thoughts of watching and turning....that's it....my swing looks after itself.

Agree with your tip Parmo.

Best tip I had was to think of my backswing like a backswing in tennis. Has helped me slow down and increase consistancy no end.

Keep control of your emotions.

I play occassionaly with a guy who's game goes to pieces if he hits 1 bad shot, from then on his concentration is non-existent and he ends up wanting to walk off with the arse. This however does have its advantages though as I usually end up winning the pony bet we have!
