What is the best and worst conditioned course you have played this yr?

Worst has to be Spey valley for weather conditions, Be honest Smiffy you did have some terible lies at Boat and yes the greens had only seen about 2 days of sunshine and the dressing that they put down first thing that morning was a bit smelly.
agree about F P over the week end but there were many woodpeckers about all I could hear was Twick Twonk as we went around.

Best? Aylesbury Park - no contest.
Worst? Aylesbury Golf Centre - no contest,

Mainly as they're the only 2 I've played this year!

AGC greens were full of moss, so spongy and springy they felt like a shag-pile carpet. Nearly needed a driver for a 10 foot put they were soooo slooooow.
APGC's are coming along nicely. Still a few bobbles in places - I had one yesterday that moved 3 inches when 6 inches from the cup and it was a dead flat putt. Overall fairly happy with them though. Shan't be playing AGC again - it was my old club.

played Aylesbury park a few time this year and will agree that its in fantastic condition is AGC the course at Bierton as i played there last week and the green are horrid.
Recently played chiltern forest aswell and that is in great shape aswell

Re: What is the best and worst conditioned course you have played this

The best: Hoebridge (where I'm a member)
The worst: The Kingfisher Course at Mannings Heath.

For a public golf course, what the greenkeepers do at Hoebridge all year round is nothing short of remarkable.

Fair one. When I came up and played Hoebridge it was brilliant. Great greens.

My best so far was Finchley GC and worst was Southwick Park GC.

Re: What is the best and worst conditioned course you have played this

Best I've played this year was Saunton - both East and West were in fantastic condition in early May so can't really split the two.

Haven't really played a course that was in poor condition. Even the Addington was in good nick despite all the rain (although the bunkers weren't great).

Re: What is the best and worst conditioned course you have played this

best: Castle Stuart and John O'Gaunt (though given the layout of some holes they really should keep strokesavers in stock!) (Ashridge would have made it three if they had done some work on the bunkers).

most disappointing: Nairn (even discounting that I was suffering from Saturday's curry) - no appeal at all. And yes, Boat's greens were dire.

absolute worst: Tilsworth (near Dunstable) do not go there, it is an abortion unworthy of any association with the name golf.
