Just curious as to what the average forum member plays to. What are our official or un-official handicap ranges ?

This reminds me of a survey they did a few years back. The European tour handed out questionaires at every tour event asking a few golfing questions including the one above and found out that the spectators at The Scottish Open were the most knowledgable gallery with the lowest handicap in Europe. Made me quite proud when I read that.

I can sympathise, we're all running out of time this season to try and improve. The weather conditions have been awfull Aug into Sept and it has had a serious effect on my aspirations to get the handicap down. Will be off 11 until next spring now. Last four cmps have taken me up 0.1 each time. Now 0.4 above starting point this year. Not too bad, but I thought and believed I could get down a bit until the monsoons came! Played our course yesterday and it was still so wet underfoot that there should have been preferred lies.

Had such high hopes this year. Finished 2007 with a bang winning the December medal and that was the las time I played to my handicap competitively. Have had a couple of buffer zones and that has been my lot. I wanted to go from 13 to 10 and given the work I put in with my club pro last winter and the spring on all parts of my game (chipping, bunkers, shots from < 100 yards, driving, long irons et al) I thought I'd make it easily or at least get close. Have instead gone from 13 to 15 and showing little sign of stopping the rot.

I have played to or near my handicap for most of the year so not unhappy. This was my first year of entering comps so am glad to have got that out of the way and really enjoy them now. Am really looking for a cut next year.

I've a good mate who's a Yorkshire man first and Englishman second. He'd have nationality in his passport as Yorkshireman if he could!

Apart from the odd round of misadventure into the abyss that is beyond 20 over lol, I have remained scoring between 6 and 10 over, havent done comps much recently but the last one was 8 over.
