People are paying new prices for certain used items and I can't get a fair price for good items who pays £86 for a s1 when a new one is £79 delivered and I can't get £10 for a cart bag worth £50

Supply and demand! If you get two or more bidders who are determined to outbid the opposition, you can get silly money for secondhand items. If you don't, then you can end up almost giving things away. I've had both!

I've noticed that! Also stuff I'm wanting goes for loads stuff I'm selling next to nothing. Ping G20 driver week before I put mine on going for about £80-£90, I put mine on end up getting £65 had it finishing at a good time on a Sunday too which seems to be a good slot.

You need to time your auction so that it ends after pub closing time on a Sunday, or for that matter any day of the week. Then you have more chance of getting silly bids for your item!

It pains me when you put in big letters "No Buy it Now" and you get an email within 10 minutes asking for a BIN price.......

Well do you. I don't mind that some times sold my rbz stage 2 a little less than I think it would of gone for but less hassle

I've never understood it either. Just seen a buy it now fishing feel for £200 new. Mine just sold for £194 used and scratched!!!!!!!!

I don't get this I really don't. When you lost something you obviously have a target price in mind, let's assume that it does make that price:

A) you have to hope the buyer actually pays.
B) you get clobbered with selling fees
C) you get clobbered with PayPal fees

Surely if someone makes an BIN offer, withdraw it from eBay, accept the money as a gift:

A) you're paid straight away
B) you don't get hit with selling fees
C) you don't get hit with PayPal fees

I've had some awesome deals via eBay but not through eBay.

I must admit, i do this alot. I think ebay might catch up with me one day though!!!!

I have 2 old clubs on ebay, 1 i thought would go well and 1 i thought Id struggle to get much for.

With a day to go I have no bids on the one I thought would go well whilst the one I thought would struggle is already bid past where I would expect!

Nowt as queer as folk (especially golfers lol)

Putting stuff on a Sunday is always a good bet, as for one, Sunday night is the time that most people sit there with their iPads browsing the Internet, and two, people have a good drink on the Saturday, see that your item has less than a day left, and think "Sh*t I need to buy this!", and you've got yourself a sale.

Ive just tried selling some gear on a Facebook page for selling golf equipment. I have a mint condition stand bag, used only a couple of times, and I paid £100 for it. I asked for £60 delivered, and one waste of space commented, moaning that my postage was too much, and the next person asked what was the least I'd take for it. Absolute waste of time, and it will be on eBay in the next few days.

Someone bought something from us a few weeks ago and paid £12 more in the auction than the buy it now price we had set

Sheffield hacker, tazbar was launched around 2007/2008 but eBay was already past the point where anyone could compete, with major investors and a great more user friendly site tazbar lasted less than 18 months

Despite all laws, eBay remains a monopoly

I had it the other week buying a Tour X Rangefinder, there were two up so I put them both into my watch list, both brand new, bought the first one and ended up getting it for £280, which had a well written description and picture of the actual product off a golf retailer, while the second one, with a description of the "Ramge finder" in broken english and a stock google image ended up going for £340 off a private auctioneer.
