I found 2 clubs on our course this Summer on two separate occasions and both were 7 Irons. At lunch to day i'm flicking through eBay just killing time and notice several Iron sets devoid of 7 Irons with comments of "left by Green". Luckily I've not left a club on the course anyone unfortunate enough to have done so and was it a 7 Iron?

Anyone that plays bump n runs id imagine.... Haven't done it myself... If I bring a putter and a wedge I usually leave the wedge with the flag when its pulled and left on the ground... That way you'll never forget it....

9 iron is usually my bump and run club. a 7 would have too much pace for me on those kinds of shots.

I did have a 16 hole lesson a few weeks back about remembering to pick up my wedges when walking off the green. I left my 60 degree by the 1st green and on pretty much every hole after that I found myself in a situation where I would have required that club. My only other wedge in the bag at that time was my 52. So the lesson was 2-fold. 1) don't leave my wedges by the greens and 2) learning to use more 'finese' for the same shot with stronger loft.

....then on the 18th tee the group behind pipes up "has anyone left a wedge". Just to confirm the lessons I had learnt I needed the 60 for the par 3 18th to chip over a greenside bunker to end up saving a par.

I hope you handed them in at the pro shop and didn't stick them on ebay while you were "looking";)

Played with a fella t'other day who appeared to insist on leaving the extra clubs he'd taken with him on the exact opposite side of the green to where he'd have to walk off to get in the buggy. Why would you do that??? Every time I saw him do it and I'd putted out first (read blobbed) I'd go and pick them up!

i wont even do that take a wedge and putter with me for fear of losing !!!

but the old lay the club on the flag is the best method if you have to!
