I am playing my pairs matchplay comp this afternoon last 16, i played tuesday and went round 5 under my handicap of 22.
The results haven't been put on howdidido or the results board in the clubhouse so my hcap adjustment hasn't been made.

Usually our css is 69 so i reckon i should be cut 1.6. Do i play off my existing hcap 22 or off my soon to be cut 21?

I think you have to play immediately off of your new, lower handicap. The fact that it hasn't been posted yet isn't important.
The other thing is, if you play off a lower handicap than you should you won't be DQ'd but if you play off a higher one, you will.
;)

In my opinion, as this was matchplay rather than stroke/medal/stableford, unless you had registered your intention to submit a supplementary card, the handicap is not adjusted until the Committee does it.

Did you play to stroke or matchplay rules - finish out all holes, no concessions, penalty shots or loss of hole etc?

If you were 5 under your handicap, you should be cut 5x 0.4 so a full 2 shots.
You should play off 20

Bob, the par is 70 and css69 and i had a nett 65, shouldn't i get cut 4x 0.4 based on css

If you know the CSS (Competition Scratch Score) the results must be out somewhere. If you don't know the CSS you must adjust against the SSS (Standard Scratch Score)

I was going on what you said. Sorry.
You are of course right. If you scored nett 65 it's 1.6 off leaving you on 20.6...21.
Good luck this afternoon. :)

thanks for your help gents. Its 3/4 difference playing against 8 and 10 hcap so i should get 9 shots is this correct? My partner is off 13

22 - 1.6 = 20.6 ?

I'll have some of what you're having. :D

My actual hcap is 22.2 (see the sig) doh!

Bullies. :(

I blame pre-9am posting before I've woken up.

Oh well, at least my maths was right even if my observational skills are lacking.

If you are off 21 and your opponents lowest handicap is 8 you should be receiving 10 shots.
Difference is 13, 3/4's will be 9.75 which is then rounded up
