What do you reckon your handicap would be..

Scratch...... Because id come off that course.. 54 holes a day... All day in that weather........

They have a draw for journalists who cover the Masters to get a round on the Monday - I know a good few guys who've played it as they cover football too - every one of them has said it's massively more hilly than you see on TV - pretty much straight up or down a mountain

But wouldn't the set up be a whole lot easier for members? Once the Masters has been & gone, I cant see the point of a course that's unplayable to mere mortals. For that is what the members are - darn rich ones, but hackers like us (for the most part)

I'm not sure it would be that different, obviously the greens wouldn't be quite as quick but they're not going to let them grow that long. There's a lot of run-offs and slopes that would make it very tricky for ordinary players and you can see some of the slopes on the greens, 10, 13, 14, and 16 are huge. Let's face it, the 12th can't change much can it....

I made a tongue in cheek comment on another thread yesterday about Augusta looking easy but there was a grain of real belief in it

Even as a high handicap I doubt that I'd lose a ball unless it was wet (where I definitely would) under the trees and I'm still finding the ball and chipping out, other than water none of the holes seem to have any unplayable carries off the tee (notwithstanding the tight widths) I admit greens surely would be 3 putt city but take away the spectator (sorry patron) stands and there's oodles of space to miss most greens

Overall if I played a few rounds to get used to it I might bring my handicap down a shot or two :D

Handicap- who would care if I could play that every day. Perfect fairways, superb greens , nice weather.

go on I will have a stab at 18, if a member. Like your own course you would get used to the pace of the greens where to go and what/not to hit!

Would all depend on the SSS, even a scratch guy could struggle :D. Considering on almost every green there's loads of places you cant hit the ball or it will roll off it would prove very difficult for a handicap golfer.

Fairways look wide but most the holes are long and quite a few have water near the green.
