Hi one and all,

I'm off to Lake Garda on Wednesday to spend a few days with Italian clothing brand Chervo.

I for one am not particularly familiar with them, so wondered if anybody here has any of their items, and what you think of them?

Also, I'll be putting some questions to their big wigs during a Q&A, so if you've ever wanted to know anything about the golf clothing industry, mention it below and I'll try to ask.

Thanks in advance!

Question

What's the latest fashion for a 13 stone 6 foot, slightly greying, but distinguished, 62 year old that won't entail him looking like an old Ricky Fowler??

Oscar Jacobson

Smart as a guardsman with that gear on

(says a 16 stone 35 year old with tufts of grey)

Why is it when you place the word 'golf' before clothing , the price seems to double :ooo:

EDIT: just seen the prices on their website, 110 euro for a polo shirt , nearly chocked on my stuffed quails eggs .

I've never owned anything by them and tend to class them as expensive - sort of like Rohnisch, Golfino or Daily. Also a bit too fashion-ista for my liking! Is there such a word as fashion-ista?? Anyway - bit too much style over function and silly patterns!

That's my thoughts on them but could be completely wrong...off to google them now!

Just had a nosey online and have to say its not bad looking gear, reminds me a lot of Tommy Hilfiger clothing. The ladies outfits look ok but the prices are not cheap even in the outlet section. see below:

Question for you Jake:

What do Chevro plan to bring that will make them stand out or be different as a golfing brand in a heavy saturated market ?

Chervo make some fine looking clothes, in particular polo shirts, but seem popular with golfers here who care more about their appearance than their game.

Sports Direct have been knocking out their clothes here in Austria for the last few months at around 60% off so I have partaken in a couple of tops which I'm happy with. Not too baggy, not too slim-fit.

48 euros much more palatable for a polo shirt than 110!

I've bought a couple of Chervo (ladies) things, always in the sale as they are a bit pricey.

Won a Chervo waterproof jacket and trousers in a raffle once! Well pleased apart from fact that the jacket - likely to be worn in the wet and the mud - was white. WHITE!

So Jake, put the question_
"What were you thinking? !!"

Half the price again and I may be interested. ;)

The look the type of beautifully tailored slim fitting clothes that if you are a 10 stone handsome Italian chap you could wear and look pretty damn cool on and off the golf course. But if you are some lardy middle aged British golfer you may not look so good in them.
