Playing in a 4bbb 3 quarter hcp match yesterday
All square on the 3rd my pp duffs his second shot tbf he was in a divot
My tee shot left me 109 to the pin however my ball is lying on a lump of concrete (freak lie) which is barely visible
Can't putt it as theres a bunker in the way only option in my mind is play the 52 which ive only had for 1 day and nipp it clean. ..

What would you do??

Result was peak
One non committed swing and a wince later. ..
New wedge scratched ball landsover the back of green bogey hole lost..

Picture to follow

Leather wedge?

Push for abnormal ground conditions/GUR!

What does leather wedge mean ? Rip it ?
The guys had little sympathy for my new wedge and were grand masters In rules unlike myself. ..
They did pull me up for playing out of turn on the 13th and said they could pick up as the hole was won but they let it go..

Did you win the match?!

BTW they were within their rights to claim the hole if you played out of turn, big no-no in matchplay, the order of play can be very important to your oppositions decisions, so I'm guessing these guys were all right really.

Yeah to be fair the guys we're sound and also gracious in defeat 3&1 :smirk:

If you notice it before taking your shot, why not use The Rules - it's an obstruction?

Not sure it was an obstruction. . It is moor land after all
Will need to ask the pro next time im up..

What would you have done? Regarding the new shiney dilemma

You don't lose the hole for playing out of turn in matchplay - your opponents only have the option of making you play the shot again at the correct turn. See Rule 10-1c
