What do you define as a mistake?

For your game only, what is a mistake?

Have you played a round without one?

I will never play a round without a mistake. For me a mistake is anything that doesn't end ideally. Wrong choice of shot, wrong club, right shot choice or right club but poor execution etc etc

I only think I've made a mistake if I don't commit to a decision.

If I think it's a 7 iron and commit to it but it comes up short or airmails the green - I'm ok with it. I hate quitting on shots so you never get to know if you have the right club.

Same with putts, don't like picking a right lip line and then changing my mind 1/2 way thru the stroke and pushing it a cup.

Those, to me, are mistakes

Altimeter I pull a shot left.

Weight transition is something I worked on massively all last year to try and eradicate it. Anytime it heads left, you can guarantee I'm leant back scooping it off left.

I don't think you will ever have a mistake free round. I set my goals high. Anything over a par is a mistake.

If your talking individual shots I'd say.
A drive that doesn't leave you a shot to the green
A 3 putt
Going in any bunker
A duffed chip when trying to get up and down.

Mistake can be technical, hitting fat or thin, whiffing chips, sending a putt only half length

mistakes can also be mental, not taking wind into account, not realising putt was downhill, aiming at the flag when there is a bunker protecting it

Choosing the wrong shot, picking the wrong club or not playing it well enough.
I'm going to miss fairways and greens - that's given for all players but it's how I miss that goes down as a mistake for me.
Not committing to the shot, over or under clubbing count too.
Bad swings..? Not necessarily as they're going to happen
Sloppy, lazy swings - definitely

This is as good a description as I can think of. We all make poor swings or catch the ball a bit wrong but not trusting your instinct or following a plan is a clear mistake. Cut these out and you'll have a decent day at the very least..

A lot of mistakes are made by players simply rushing through what they are about to do.
If after a bad outcome you can go through what you had just done and can honestly say you were committed to the process of playing that shot, then you have to accept it.

Acceptance is the final part of a good routine.

I would like my mistakes to be club selection, or flushing it, or mis judging the wind. I don't like my mistakes to be down to me mi******** it.

I distnguish between a bad hit (which I don't think about much during the round ... bad shots happen and are best forgotten quickly, in my oppinion) and a bad decision (like taking the wrong club, taking on a shot one shouldn't have etc.), which I do see as mistakes and try to learn from.
