Sometimes I'm too hard on myself when I have to 3 putt when it's say 60 feet of putt so just wondering what other people deem an acceptable 3 putt(if any)

I would say 50 feet+ would be acceptable for me.

I realise this will be skill level dependant.

I don't know the stats per handicap bracket but would be interested if there were any- only people I'd imagine would have such a stat would be game golf or similar services.

A lot depends on the speed of the greens and the severity of the slopes
The faster the greens, the bigger the slopes, the shorter the 3 putt distance...
On average, I'd say most golfers are in 3 putt territory from 30 feet out.

At the moment I 3 putt pretty much everything because I seem to be unable to hole short putts (like inside 3 ft short). But generally, I expect to 3 putt from 50 ft out, especially when it is severly up- or downhill and whenever there is a baby elephant burried between my ball and the hole. I am okay with break, normally, but I find the speed on longer uphill or downhill putts very difficult to judge, so my first putt can end up well out of 10 ft.

When I'm 30+ feet away I try and visualise a dustbin lid around the hole and aim to get it inside that, 3 feet or so being OK. My putting of late has been abysmal and the amount of times I have 3 putted from less than 20 feet is quite frankly staggering.

It's all dependant on hole position, slope on the green etc

Agree with the above completely.

On flatish greens I can 3 putt fairly regularly from 20 foot(or even less, if I am not paying attention) tho:o

I don't consider anything 3 put country, i try and be positive on every putt, thinking its a 3 putt before you have even hit the first in just negative

You should try putting from the back of the 18th green at Glenbervie, i'd be happy with 3 putts :o.

I don't beat myself up for a very long 3 putt as, typically, I'll steal a few mid range putts along the way. However, if I'm regularly 3 putting from long range, that leads to a different discussion.
