What do people have against PING?

Hello guys...
I was just wondering... what do people have against PING? I have read things on here like calling PING the darkside! Is there any reason? also people say they are for old people?

I think I started the 'old people' gag. My Dad has always played Ping, so they make old peoples clubs. He is 78, so that's pretty old. It as just caught on. It is only a joke. Don't take stuff so seriously.

As for the 'dark side', that wasn't me, but I guess after all the stick the guys who play Ping have got on here for being old, they have got a bit evangalistic on promoting the brand, and hence they need knocking down every now and then.

If you buy Ping, you are getting quality gear.

Just not as good as Titleist.
 
I guess its because a lot of guys can remember their dads/themselves using ping eye and ping eye II irons, mine certainly used them then got them regrooved when they became illegal and got another ten years out of them.
I think their drivers, woods and putters are different though.
I have a G15 driver and used to have an isopur putter and wouldnt consider either fogeys tools. Show me a guy with a set of pings and it reminds me of middle aged men (and then some) hitting 6 irons 140 yards with a slight cut into the green.

It's called jealousy. And the Darkside well thats because they hit the ball with the same accuracy as the Deathstar shooting at planets :rolleyes:. The reason they think only old men play them is because only the enlightened ones own them and others think that only old people have lived long enough to be that enlightened :rolleyes:.

Thats my view any way and I am sticking to my theory, because at 44 I will never admit to being old :D :D.

People who use PING just look old, don't they???

Westwood. He's 36 and yet he could easily blag it on his local bus for a free ride.

Smiffy. He's 41. JustOne told me that when he used his old clubs he didn't look a day over 45. Now he's switched to PING, he looks so old that the pro at The Addington thought that Leftie was his son!!! :rolleyes:

Titleist or Mizuno is the way to go sir.

They do make excellent clubs. I think the I15's in particular are fantastic to hit and they will be right up there as a consideration if I decide to swap irons. The drivers in particular are pretty easy to hit too and then you've got the putters which if you look back are the template for most designs on the market today
 
Doesnt he make finger lickin chicken too?

As an aside, I hear that during the moon landings, it was a ping eye 2 5 iron was used and it still didnt go more than 150 but did have a little cut shape to its flight.

Thanks for noticing that we're special...............Nothing wrong with Ping's, I'd gladly take anyone on with my pings. If I cant beat you on the course, I'd gladly use my 3iron/walking stick to club you to death afterwards..............
 
Ping are simply superb clubs. Maybe even the marmite of golf, you either love em or hate em!
