I currently get to play Cookridge for free through my university but I want to get a student membership at a local club for next year.

So simple question, where's the best club around Leeds that'll do a student membership at a good rate?

All opinions and feedback welcome,

Thanks

I don't know the Student membership details, but Moor Allerton is one of my favourites near Leeds.. 3 loops of 9, all great. A lovely clubhouse and the course is a real test....

Played Cookridge and its a good course, enjoyed it

As for others. Moortown and Moor allerton are superb. Sand moor is good too but probably a level below them two.

Alwoodley is also supposed to be superb but I haven't played there.

Sweet Jeesus thats a deal.... I wonder if I can get away with that? A bit like 21 Jump Street... Honest Reuben, I'm 21 and a student at Leeds Uni...;)

Maybe about 30 years ago yes but I think your struggling in you current guise mate

I'd agree the above - if you can get Moor Allerton on the cheap you'll have a fantastic year of golf.

I played Wike Ridge last week pretty much over the road from Moor Allerton. Very interesting course. Tricky holes, huge greens and plenty of trees. Also worth a look.

I think Moortowns student membership is around 275 for the year too. I would say my place or moortown are a steal at those prices.

When I was at Leeds Uni I joined Bracken Ghyll GC. A little bit of a drive but I paid £120 for a student membership and at the time they were doing a deal for 18 months for the price of 12, not bad for £120!

Just had a look now and it's still only £137.

We at south Leeds gc have just had 4 lads join from Leeds met uni which ages of 18-24 costs £150 a year no joining fee

Landon if you pop up tell the pro damien sent you to see if you could play a round with a view of joining you will get a free round the course is in great nick now compared to two month ago after the wet winter drawboy will vouch for this also

Having lived in Leeds for 13 years I would definitely be looking to go for Moortown if they are offering the student rate. The others don't even compare. Take this chance to join a magnificent club.
