I have a customer visit in Ellesmere port tomorrow morning. I will pack the golf gear and if all goes well I hope to go out afterwards for a knock. Any nice courses in the area that I could just roll up and play on? I did a lookup on Google and it produced a list below, any local insight would be much appreciated - I have no idea whats good or bad.

Mollington Grange Golf Club

Upton-by-Chester Golf Club

Ellesmere Port Golf Club

Chester Golf Club

Pryors Hayes Golf Club

The Oaks at Mollington

Eaton Golf Club

Are you restricted to that list or looking for suggestions?

Wallasey is superb if you can manage to get on.

Caldy is very good and should be easier to get on etc.

Heswall ive never played but only heard good things.

Off your list :-

Eaton is supposed to be very nice.

Pryors Hayes is goat track country.

No experience of the others.

Bromborough is supposed to be pretty good - a 9 iron from my In-Laws and I've never played it!!
It was good enough to hold a National boys U16 event a few years back.

Any suggestions please, doesnt need to be that list but preferably not much further north as it will be taking me away further away from home.

I'll leave Wallasey for another time for when I do a stop over, it looks great.

Isn't there a course on the Wirral called Royal Liverpool or something like that??

This will be on expenses won't it? ;)

Not on the Wirral, but for a v good mid price course, try Delamere forest.

if not caldy, then bro borough, heswall is booked from 1 onwards tomorrow, cos I'm playing on it in a charity day. Others are only ok, vicars cross is better than them.

I'd say Chester is the best of that list.
