We are not all talented golfers (shame) but we were once all probably good at something. What could you have turned pro at given a bit more time and practice, not to mention the lucky break?

Was a very good runner when i was younger, ran in the all england cross country championships in 1977 and 1978.Used to run 50 miles a week and interval training when i was twelve.Had my own trainer but we fell out and i gave it up for three years went and played football instead.Had a trial for totenham but was way to small probably from all the running.Went back to running at 16 but it was too late then so did it for fun, dont know if i could have made it but i was really good.

I had a good natural swing as a youngster, so who knows, maybe I could've made a pro golfer. Was pretty good at badminton in my teens and early 20s, beating some county players.

i think id have made it as a rugby league player was getting watched by bradford bulls and then went did my ankle ligaments and had a while out

Drinking maybe

Other than that badminton i played a county level but soon got fed up.Would like to say golf was off 8 at 14 but most of the great players were nearer scratch or + by that age

I was quite handy at snooker but being able to put a 100 break together isn't anywhere near good enough in the standards required. I'm just a small fish in a massive pond unfortunately.

Apart from that I was just average at mist other things.

I would have had a good shot at turning pro if i'd have continued to play when I was a junior rather than giving up at 13-14.
If you can call it professional, I could have competed at the highest level in match fishing. I once beat Bob Nudd (4x world champ) in a match, and also was chosen to fish in qualifiers for the junior national team.

Thats you and me both then. I actually did fish in the junior nationals for Leeds, and beat Tommy Pickering at a match at Hayfield lakes in Doncaster, and numerous other matches with my match squad Wykebeck recovery Leeds. I was a bit handy with my pole.

Got as far as 3 counties level at rugby when I was younger but neve really pushed on when I went to uni and found other things to occupy my time. Kept on playing until I was 35 but only on a social level.

Not sure this counts though as rugby was stricly an amateur game.

I can vouch for that. I played very seriously for years (didn't golf as a teenager) and whilst good, never got very far out of the local scene. I gave up aged 23 and found something more frustrating..... :o

I use to play squash at county level when younger, and was told to keep in up and with the right help could have gone on to the next level.

But then I found girls and drink !!!!

Sleeping or eating ;)

Definately a pro at eating....

Went for a carvery the other day and got to the counter and I noticed a 'trade up' sign for £1.50.
Basically involved getting a giant Yorkshire pudding, 2x sausages, extra veg and meat!!
Without doubt it was money well spend at no hesitation.

As for sleeping... A ly-in for me. Is 7am.
