In my opinion, my golf club needs a better system of booking tee times. I don't think it is good because if you don't go online and book in advance the day before you can be left waiting around for ages!

Never mind that though.

I'd like to hear if there is anything you think your local clubs needs that would make it a better golf club.

I look forward to reading them!

For me it would be organised weekend roll ups. If there is no comp on then I would be happy meeting other members rather than playing in my normal group all the time.

We also have three loops of nine holes and I would like to see nine holes reserved for smaller groups

a nice seat and a bin at every tee.

a few colourful bushes and flowers go a long way to brightening up a course.

Davey Hulme in Manchester, birchy's gaff, has this down to a tee. real easy on the eye.

Dig up and rebuild the remaining 5 or 6 greens still to meet USGA standards - this would mean no more winter greens.

Build a path between the 15th green and 16th tee.

Change peoples perception that you can't play Prestonfield when it's raining. So much work has been done on the drainage over the last few years that it's now very good indeed.

Slightly faster greens.

Make it ten miles closer to my house ;)

Remove the stones from the bunkers.

Otherwise the place has it pretty spot on, really friendly, good courses, good comps...... just a shame about the stones

People who constantly moan about the club and it's rules - it's obvious that they don't like it so they should move on..

+1 million.

It continues to amaze me how many experts there are that line the bar, whose intelligence is magnified in proportion to the amount of beer they consume. Maybe we only need to remove the beer...

Ours needs a sand/seed box on the tees. The tee boxes are in a right mess some days because us members simply can't do anything about it.

Can't think of much that's why we joined, only been here a short while so will revisit this question after a year of playing here.

Pretty happy with my club. New GM doing a decent job. Greenkeeper and his staff beginning to make some big strides forward on the greens and the course. In an ideal world fairway irrigation would be nice but all in all its good. They are even planning to improve my second home the practice ground for next year!

I'm still new at my club (Ryton) and its excellent so far with consistent greens, greatly improved drainage (from what I hear over the last year or so), welcoming members, friendly club house staff, website updated daily and really low green/membership fees.

They have struggled to attract a captain for this year with all the commitments that come with the appointment, but I hear that they have a few candidates for next year. So for a club that is careful to operate 'within its means', it will continue to grow and only have small improvements to make. i.e. condition of the odd tee box.

Would love to see practice facilities given a wee upgrade . Some pins or targets to hit at.

Also as would like to see the club trying to make money on weekend comps by offering club & shoe cleaning services for a small fee. I would happily volunteer to do this for a couple of hours at time on comp days.

Our weekday medal is usually a Thursday and tee time is usually heavily booked from 7am till 1:30 and then from 16:00 until 18:00. I would like to see a tee time of example 16:05 introduced to start there medal from the 10th this will allow people who wish to tee of earlier in the evening do so . I believe this would work as between 13:30-1600 our course is pretty quiet.
