Hi folks

Iv just been cut to 23, I use mizuno mp57 cut muscle clubs and tm r9 driver and fairway woods

Should i swap for a more forgiving club or carry on with these

Whats your thoughts

Cheers

Mike

More forgiving pal. Buy benross!!! It's the future, there's too many who are governed by the badge in their bag. They hanker for a 'thin top line'. Go practical !!

It depends where your weak point is.

Where are you losing your shots? Off the tee, 200-100 yards, within 100 yards, putting?

No point changing clubs unless your need to..

Damn, you got there before me! I read the thread title and OP and thought to myself, well ... I might be able to recommend something here! ;)

Seriously though Mike, if there are clubs that you struggle to hit reliably then get something more forgiving (and if there aren't any clubs that you struggle to hit reliably then you're a bandit off 23!). It doesn't have to be all or nothing, maybe just a higher loft driver or a couple of hybrids instead of longer irons. And without doubt include Benross in the mix when you're trying clubs!

Genrally duff shots,,,,,,,,topping, ob's stuff like that

I would put topping down to the player and faults in the swing. I'd fix that first with some lessons and look at clubs later.. High handicappers can hit less forgivable clubs, it's just learning how to use what you've got.

Plenty of decent clubs around including GI and "players" clubs which are actually suitable to a wide range of golfing abilities. However if you hitting poor shots, especially tops and big carves OOB then I would get the swing looked at first

Personally, I'd say go for a lesson & see what a pro says. It could be a fix with your swing that could get you hitting them more reliably but then it could be you do need a set of more forgiving clubs.

It's the Indian, not the arrow!

MP57s are neither the most forgiving, nor the least forgiving of the Mizuno range.

Same applies to the R9 Driver imo. FWs are as good as any.

Get the swing sorted out with lessons first. That's also the 'cheapest' way imo too!
