Ping. Originally because they came out best when I tested all the major brands last year and the I25's have given me more confidence, a few more years and better dispersion over the G25's I had. Had TM, Nike, Cally or any other brand come out on top that would have been where I went. No real brand loyalty and want what's best for my game

I'm surprised TM hasn't snaffled Donald considering he's used their Driver for last few years, and Mizzy must be peeved that they can't get a driver to suit him? Be interesting what deal he got from Mizuno.

Voted Mizuno as all my iron/wedges are Mizuno and so is my hybrid.

Always been a Mizuno fanboy as there irons always look so nice and my MP54's are doing the job at the minute.

Apologies it was TM - and its someone i would personally trust. Been a good source of info to me in the past but its up to people to make their own choices. Donald was certainly flirting with other manus before he extended his contract with Mizuno. Think it was last jan ?

Still think its a cop out.

Regarding big Ernie, TM owns Adams. So I'm taking a big stab in the dark here and say he did move on to bigger money.

Taylormade driver, 3 fairway and hybrids - liked to ability to adjust and feel
ping irons - liked the look feel etc and they have good high trajectory.
Titliest wedges - 54,60,64 liked feel and look
yes putter - a mate gave it to me and it "works" nothing like a freebie

10 year old + PING i3 blades, original grips and shafts,WHY--- because they still do the job i bought them for,to propel a small white object towards a small hole in the ground in the best possible way,how many times it takes is down to my ability not the clubs.

With all the marketing, advertising and hype that Callaway, Taylormade and Nike throw at us I'm surprised they do not fair better. While the poll is in no way representative of the over all market, the two manufacturers who only do a small amount of advertising fair the best.

When looking for new clubs, perhaps all the hype and advertising makes the public feel that the product cheap and poor quality, made purely for fast turnover and to generate huge amounts of revenue. Marketing that advertises a new product every few months, maybe makes the public feel they are not getting value for money. Maybe too much marketing makes the public feel like a company is trying to hard and that they cannot just rely on a product to sell itself.

Maybe less is more when it comes to golf advertising.

What is means is most people on here can judge for themselves without all the marketing etc

Most of the people that do get swallowed up buy the marketing etc are normally our american cousins and the "society hackers- social golfers etc ( not being insulting there ) - the ones that play 3 times a year etc

I play Ping G15s. About two years ago I went in to my local golf store to try out some Callaway X16s as they looked the nicest, seemed a reasonable price and were just what I was after...or so I thought. I tried out the Callaways, Pings and TaylorMades and had a noticeably straighter and less erratic run of shots with the Pings. They were slightly less than the Callaways and much less than the TaylorMades, saving me a few bob whilst getting me clubs I am more than happy with.

A year later I went in assuming I'd come out with a Ping G20 driver. A similar thirty minutes on the simulator and I came out with a TaylorMade R1. Slightly more expensive but significantly longer and much neater dispersion.

I would tend to agree with your comments, there are those that buy into the marketing and think buying the next best driver will make them hit it as far as Bubba, Stenson, or Johnson, or that the latest irons from company X will make them better players, only to become disillusioned when they find even with their new clubs, nothing has changed.
