I have a set that a clubmaker built with KZG heads and graphite shafts......im very satisfied with this set....he has built all my clubs from driver to putter....

when i go inside a golf store,,there is so many sets to choose from,,so afterwhile i look on the price and choose after that,,,not whats fit me,,,,so when i was 50,, i gave myself a built set in birthday present and have since then let my clubmaker built clubs for me,,,it cost me more,,but you only lives once and life doesnt go in replay:thup:

Pro's play who ever pay the most money.

Bit of a generic statement that we dont know if will be fully true or not

But doesnt change my statement - not many pros on the PGA or ET use Mizuno clubs - its not a negative or anything.

Ok most Pro's use who ever pays the most. It would be very naive to believe that they choose their equipment for any other reason. All the top manufacturers make top quality gear so why not.

Donald ( Mizuno player ) been offered multiple deals with Nike and TM - still plays with Mizuno
Westwood ( Ping ) same as Donald

Els was offered some big contracts but went to Adams after being offered more money by another manufacturer

Mickleson was offered big bucks by Nike about 6 years ago - turned down

Not always about money - A great deal of top pros get a relationship going with the manufacturer ( whilst still getting paid well )

Not always about who pays the most. May have been for Woods and McIlroy when going to Nike

As i said - its a very generic statement to suggest its all about who pays the "most"

Pretty sure Westwood,Donald & co are on pretty competitive deals with their current manufacturer

Yes they are - but they could have been on a lot more with other offers - hence why its not always the "most" on offer.

Please supply proof or links to the Donald and Mickelson statements please..........

How can you know how much they could have been on? Don't believe everything you read Phil.
Ps Mickleson moved to Callaway for more money. Probably didn't want to go to Nike to play 2nd fiddle to Tiger

 seriously???

Yep ;)

Some people in the world do know people who work for various companies and maybe a few pros etc and get fed a bit of info every now and then when chatting

You can believe it or not - thats your choice. Or you can post generic statements about pros.

Have a nice day

Are these sources definitive facts or just heresay?

I'm most curious about is the Mickelson one. As I think circa 2003-2004, Phil called out Tiger about his inferior equipment. So why would Nike offer him mega bucks? And especially to TW's number 1 rival (at the time).

I'm not gullible enough to believe everything people tell me. & I certainly wouldn't use rumours to try & prove a point.
Good day to you also Pal

Apologies it was TM - and its someone i would personally trust. Been a good source of info to me in the past but its up to people to make their own choices. Donald was certainly flirting with other manus before he extended his contract with Mizuno. Think it was last jan ?

No doubt Mizuno offered him a very good deal as he is there main man.
