In another thread, forummember informed about a lot of golf clubs having two 18 holes links courses.. What is your advice for which links golf club shall an indifferent couples golfplay choose for an overseas membership to an reasonable subscription suitabel for our play skill.?

We have to evaluate in autumn if we for next year will contuine to be overseas member at Saunton or choose another club or not to contuine as overseas members at all.

Reccomendations is appriciated, but bare in mind,,we arent high skilled players, but loves to play links..:whoo:

How much is membership costing you and how many rounds a year are you getting for this? I struggle to see this being that cost effective, if it was me I think Id play a variety of different courses each time I visited rather than having a membership at one (unless you have a property that means you are based "on" a course

I think it might be worth asking the question 'what clubs are you aware of that offer a very reasonable overseas membership rate?'

We have done some trips to UK and had a route and play different course during such a trip. Greenfee isnt so cheap for a one time play and you dont get to know the club and the course so well. One will play several rounds to learn the course and the club culture and maybee also to get in contact with other members for social contact. So far we havent been put togehter with local members when playing on a greenfee.

We doing this season as an experiment as overseas member to learn more about the courses, the clubs culture and hopefully to be social with members as well.. Hopefully we can invite some to come to sweden and stay at our house and play our fine courses around Stockholm. We also want to be more connected to the community around the golf course.... so we will spend 5 weeks in total in saunton area and hopefully will it be a lot of rounds aand socializing.

We have to evaluate this experiment in the autumn and see if we will contiune this overseas membership and explore different areas of the UK
