I got a gift voucher for a certain well known golf store for Christmas.
I get their catalogue posted to me on a regular basis as well as e mail newsletters. (Know the shop?)

Anyway, today was the day their sale started. Hot footed it over to their local shop with voucher in hand as well as a fair few folding stuff.

To cut a long story short, I walked out of the shop empty handed. I found virtually nothing in the shop cheaper than it was several weeks ago.
OK, I did see an Odyssey 2 ball putter (poor example) for £57 along with what must be the hugest 3 ball putter from Odyssey I have ever seen. Other than that, all the so called massively reduced clothing was as it was pre Christmas.

Very, very disappointed and still have a gift voucher to spend. I imagine I'll end up stocking up on balls as and when required.

Ditto, dropped into AG on xmas eve, didn't see anything hugely reduced, to the extent I might buy it, and can't see why I would go back to the sale. Not sure what all the fuss in the papers is all about.

Ditto, went in yesterday looking at the Sun Mountain trolley - no deals. Went over to NevBob's too, looked at the Clicgear trolley, again, no deals......

Disappointed, shall have to make do with going to Curry's this morning and getting that brand new 42 inch HD TV :).

Go with Panasonic! They make the best TY`s by far. Also check out Richer Sounds before you hit Currey's, they are much cheaper and have miles better service.

There are some good deals around. It is worth browsing and finding them online first though. I think FJ reelfits at £59 from AG is a bargain. Also some good deals on woodworm clothing, but I know what you mean there is nothing that seems to jump out screaming grab me. Plus I suppose all the reductions are on old gear that people are no longer buying rather than on products that are relatively new and still developing interest, but that is why shops have sales to clear old stock for the new year.

The post christmas sales seem to have been a big smokescreen.
I bought a Canon EOS 1000d Dslr camera and the same thing is now 50-60 pounds more expensive now. What is going on? The only major sale that I have seen so far is the decent Currys sale on plasma and LCD televisions.

Bought the 42 inch LG7000 reduced to £549 from £999, read some good reviews on it, it's bloody big, but looks the mutts nuts :)

Currys have apparently capped the sales on these as they have sold 1000's, now can't be sure when they are getting any more in. I'm not surprised at the price, just happened to be lucky when I went in, a collection order hadn't been collected and they expire after 2 days, so had one left when I got there....

I wanted a new telly. Fancied one of these new fangled LCD jobbies. But the prices seem no different to how they were before christmas. Argos seems cheaper, but when I check the all imprtant contract ration thingamy I realise why Argos is cheaper.

Comming back to all things golf related I had the Direct Golf Sales brochure drop through my letter box the other day & to say the offers were disapointing to say the least is an understatement, especially when I looked at the prices of ball, that are suposed to be sale prices I can get better deals from European Golf in Derby any time of the year on the balls I was interested in.

Ant there wasn't even a sniff of Golf GPS in the pages of the thick brochure that seemed to me to be full of to put it mildly... rubbish.

We are currently offering 10% on all orders over £10 which includes all of our trolleys...even the clicgear...

feel free to check it out
