My home course, Nairn, is reputed (usually by club members, admittedly, so perhaps not entirely objective) to have some of the best greens in Scotland, even if most are presently a little diseased at the moment.

fastest i've played are kingsbarns - they're also very true. some more grass on them would have been nice though. best i've played are north berwick.

Any of the ones I played on in Buenos Aires, or Disney Magnolia in Florida.

In this country, Royal county down had good greens, as did The Hotchkin at Woodhall Spa.

Failing that, my Dads 9 hole course called Hillingdon in Uxbridge is pretty good. And they are on them all year too, no temps.

Loch Lomond, the twice i've played it they've been superb and my own course Scotscraig normally but this this year there struggling

I thought the Brabazon's greens where awesome along with the Ailsa

Also a little gem Colvend SW Scotland there greens where stunning, short but tight course with stunning views for little money

Hexham a few years back had greens to die for but I reckon a course I played on Monday and will review shortly had the bestest greens......The Faldo course in the Algarve....what an unbelievable roll you got and the whole track was just awesome.

Aiden

I had the great pleasure of playing your great club Nairn two weeks ago. The weather was stunning which made the whole day fantastic.

No doubt about it, you have the best greens I have ever played on. They are so very true and fast with it. It was a joy to play them, I felt I could hole everything ( of course I didn't though !! ).

So, I am with you on Nairn.

I'm glad you enjoyed the course, Colin. I was fortunate enough to have gotten out first thing this morning for a quick round. (And played like an imbecile.) It's been really sunny up here and the course is beginning to get baked, which translates into very quick greens.

I have a choice of about 10 courses and rising the more I think???? so I had better just mention a couple.
I loved playing nairn, but when I was there it was 15 yrs ago and although it was a great course with good greens, I would'nt rate it during that period as one of the best for greens, its nice to hear that they are so rated by you now.

I have played Hotchkin a few times at different times of the year and always been impressed.
I loved the tough reads and speed of St Andrews when I played there, and Troon was so long ago I almost can't remember accurately how good they were, but Im sure they were?

Im going for the Hotchkin because it has never let me down for quality, no matter when I have played it.

I thought Leatherheads were pretty good on Sunday - fast but true. Bearwood were pretty good too. Ascots are coming back nicely. I think the quickest I've putted on would Wentworths (mid 80's) just after the World matchplay. Tournament speed and put the fear of god in me and my patchy stroke

London club for me, however, like Homer said Leatherheads greens are kick ass and getting better by the day, I cant wait until they shave them down for the Open!
