Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and hope to contribute more posts but had to tell you about the wonderful few rounds I've had recently.

I've been playing for around 20months now and up until recently played off of 28. I'm not a member of a club but am looking at Mid Kent for next year and rely on playing about 4 times a month at number of clubs in the county with friends from work.

This year I invested in a 60° Cleveland CG14 wedge, Cleveland 10.5° Hibore XLS Driver and Cleveland Hibore 1i hybrid. All have made a great impact on my game, money well spent. I used to struggle from inside 70yds hitting the greens with attempts at half swings or holding further down the grips but the wedge has been tremendous making me more confident within this distance. The driver only gets used with a half swing - described as lazy by friends but it consistently gets me 230-240yds in a straight line. The hybrid is very versatile and gets used as my utility more so than not for when I end up in trees and am looking to punch the ball back into play.

I should really get back to my main point as I'm beginning to waffle quite a bit so going into these recent rounds I was hitting around 30pts from a 28hcp but have hit a vein of good form. Firstly at Deangate Ridge GC I hit my first sub 100 with a 96 on my Wedding Anniversary, 20th May. Then on the 1st June I returned to hit another 96. Yesterday a group of us went to Birchwood Park GC and I came away with a 92.

I know that at some time this vein will run out but my confidence is high and I can't wait for the next round. My handicap is falling and my challenge to play at this new level just thrills me for the next round.

I've kept all three cards as my golfing history begins to be written - aim for the 90 next.

Sounds pretty good to me. Wish I could hit 240 with a half swing. Hang on, may be that's where I go wrong, a full thrash, 230, a half swing, 240.

Seriously, keep it up, golf is about fun (enjoyment over endurement) and as long as you are enjoying it, fair play to you.

Good shooting. I was down in Kent a few months back with several other GM forum members at Lydd. Next time there is a meet down there why not pop along and put your game to the test and enjoy the banter
