What a way to start a major...

I managed to snap the shaft in my 7 iron today, in a major, on the first..

It wasn't deliberate, my tee shot landed next to a tree, I didn't have much of a shot but saw an opening, got my body as close to the tree and went for a push shot, hands as forward as possible... Hit the ball through the gap but when I pulled my club back it was bent and snapped in the middle..

I didn't feel any bad contact on the tree, so it must as hit a tree root... Properly gutted. Had to play the rest without a 7 iron, really ruined my game as I was annoyed at snapping it.

Gave it to the pro shop on my way out, hopefully they can get a new PX5.5 in it before HFH!! Good thing I've got money in my account!

It did make things difficult.. I had to either hammer an 8 iron or slow down a 6.. Both are swings that require focus and belief... I didn't have either today.

This is a good question.. I didn't even think to check. Will give golf care a ring tomorrow.
