So after a summer of cuts and playing well I lined up on Friday for a charity day at Etchinghill and my first stableford comp at my new place.

I've managed to get down to 17 over the summer but was somehow given a 3/4 handicap of 11 for the charity day....no pressure then. Well actually yes, loads of pressure and I scored 17 points :whoo::whoo: I totally forgot how to drive, I couldn't put and I putt a draw on pretty much ever shot. Even my putts.

So Saturday and the stableford comp....Friday out of my mind and off we go. Front 9 - 8 points (and 3 of those were for a part on the first). I didn't hit a single fairway with my drives all day but somehow managed to scramble 17 points on the back 9 to amass a whopping 25 points for the day. 0.1 back and back up to 18.

I love golf, I hate golf, I love golf, I hate golf......

Could be worse - you could 'love golf, hate golf, love golf, hate golf,.....' AND be a Sunderland supporter like me!

and have a Geordie for a business partner!

I played a competition on Saturday, betterball, and my partner and I came last. Could not putt for love nor money, no touch at all didn't even scare the hole. The only upside is that I don't support Sunderland.

It happens. You know you can play better and my hunch is you just tried too hard off the lower handicap on Friday. Saturday was just a bad day. We all get them. As long at there isn't anything fundamentally wrong with the technique you'll be fine. If not you could always get a quick 30 minutes lesson

Or maybe its time for a new driver?!

The best thing about golf - there is always the next round

Sunderland got a hammering and then went to goswick with moogie yesterday and played in a monster gale force wind we still had a good laugh :)
