Its been coming all season this after 3 tournament 2nds...
Weekend comp yesterday stableford shot 43 points won by 3 points and a personal best at my track of gross 87...fantastic front 9 of 26 points and 3 over gross 41 including SEVEN pars..Got a bit mentaly jittery halfway but managed to keep steady with a decent 17 points back 9..no pars.
A nice cut on the way which is more important to me than winning..overall my best ever comp and performance.Pretty exstatic.

Cheers

Kev.

Well done - on both the win and the PB!

If your sig reflects those results, there's likely to be an ESR reduction too.

A spot of consolidation at this level normally happens as course management strategy needs to change. Bogie golf, with the occasional blip, doesn't quite work. You need to be getting several Pars each 9, so a little more aggression is needed. The above score shows you can do it though! :whoo:

Nice on Kev, a good cut too.

I have just had a look on Howdidido and your new handicap isn't shown. A bit strange.

Nice one mate, well done, enjoy!

Great shooting, well done.

The back nine is always a challenge if you have had a cracking front 9 as its easy to loose your focus and give it all back. I have done that many a time thinking about a possible cut only to come in on handicap or worse so to shoot 17 back is very good under the circumstances.

I bet you are looking forward to the next round :)

Well done Kev
Great golf mate.

Just looked at your card on howdidido , very consistent

But check with your h/cap sec ..... Cos u may not get the cut u so desire, and deserve, after that card, as on howdidido, it sez the comp was a non qualifier
Great win all the same Kev

Foxholer:I found myself being less aggressive on the back 9 I couldnt help that 'mentality' creeping in after such a brilliant front 9..had never been in such a good position as that before halfway through the game..I became more a bit more quiet with my playing partners and more 'serious' within myself.....that probably didnt help as the front 9 I was basically care free with flowing banter...but as said battled my way to 17 points, with a steady/strong finish.

Louise.....thanks

The last time I was cut last autumn it took 4 months to show on Howdidido!!!.....not sure why? My club not passing info over maybe? So I am not concerned about it not showing on howdidido yet........was verbally told in person on Sunday night after my win that I am getting cut.

Hickory: thanks mate....thats exactly how I tried to stop myself feeling on the back 9,trying not to lose focus..it 'unsettled' me and I felt mentally jittery having not been in such a great position before...I started thinking '2 points on every hole could get me the win/cut'....and a couple of 1 pointers kicked in then iI went back to thinking 'play 1 shot at a time' like the front 9.

Well done Kev

But I would not have posted at the start of my thread ' a nice cut on the way' if I hadnt as mentioned earlier been verbally told to my face on Sunday night that I was getting cut.I knew it was a NQ.
