Anyone watch it last night?

It wasnt the Tiger love in i expected to be honest, an awful lot shown of other players too.

Butch Harmon needs to chill out on the Rory issue though, everytime Rory was shown you could guarantee Butch saying "i really like watching this guy" or words to that effect.....people will start talking eventually :D

Big Phil played the last 3 holes unbelievably too, chipped in on 17 & 18 to share the lead after a nightmare start too. I'd love short game only a 1/3 as good as his!

Anyone see Stenson in his scanties hitting out of the mud. Jean Vande Valde might have met his match in the looking stupid in water stakes.

lol

The things you do to save a shot eh?

Sergio's putting was abyssmal again too, tee to green he was superb.

And Pod, how the f**k he finished -6 is beyond me, he was shocking off the tee!!

KeffG---old adage applies to POD---drive for show putt for dough.

He only hit 4 fairways which is pure tripe--as least he managed to avoid bogey and his confidence must have be raised.

I think there is something not quite gelling with PH. Does anyone know if perhaps he made any swing changes over the winter which haven't quite clicked yet. Still has the same steel and determination but there isn't the same flow to his game.

Did you see his interview at the end of his round, he even admitted he played bad. It just seemed that everytime the cameras came to him he was either in the rough and had been wayward off the tee or was holing a birdie putt! Totally surreal round of golf.

This is a bit extreme I know, but I think Phil needs an knee injury like Tiger had!?!?!

I say that because, like Tiger did, he swings way out of control with the driver in his hand and it's only his genial short game that stops him being a 5 h'capper. If he could swing under control (or be forced to with a bad knee or something) I think he could sustain a challenge for the #1 spot.

Tiger's misses are on the planet now as opposed to before his lay off when he was relying on a spectator walkway in the next state to get back into play.

Now if i was Butch i'd have gushed much more than that :p

Fairs fair though, its hard to not think of him as the potential winner come Sunday afternoon, have you seen some of the golf he's playing. No...i mean really seen it?

He's amazing!

Do you want some....eh, do ya? lmao

Best of all though, and this is important, he looks like he is having fun. That is worth a huge amount. I hope this is a feeling he can hold onto. Sergio lost this along time ago and looks like he could do with remembering this feeling. It might help with his putting.

I like Rory, he is a breath of fresh air. Untainted by failure.

Shaping up to be a great tournament, Rory has truly played some stunning shots. That 3 wood on his penultimate hole (I think) was a beauut, I love it when you get a camera angle from behind the player and get to see the ball flight. Damn I wanna be him :( His tee shot on the last wasn't half bad either. Mickelsons really putting on a show aswell, and as someones already mentioned, its not a Tiger fest!

Its good to see Paddy doing well, even if he is messy. Glad to see some of our boys up around the -7,8 marks aswell.

Rory McIlroy appears to be the real deal. It would seem that the US set up suits his game, (hits it long and high). The fact he's grown up on links courses will mean he has the game for any course.

He's not big, he doesn't look particularly strong, what does he do so well? - everything it seems!
Haven't seen anyone with this much potential since Sergio about 10 years ago.

3 behind after 2 rounds at Doral is fantastic scoring.

Youngest winner of Masters? The way he's playing currently he's got as good a shot as anyone, except Phil M maybe.

Might have to get Sky sports today - ManU/Liverpool then Rory at WGC!
