...but it's always funny when someone else does it.
I've changed his name to spare his blushes .

Mr. K.Nob....Where are my playing partners?
Starter.....they're not here yet sir.
Mr K.Nob....We're supposed to be teeing off now..at 08.36.
Starter......I've just checked the starting sheet sir and I think you'll find you're teeing off at 09.36.
Oops :D
Still, better than being an hour late I suppose.

I blame the online booking system at Crowborough Beacon GC.
It's not as if you can just log on to the website and check if you're unsure..............

I remember writing down my tee time, 9.40 on Sunday... Great perfect for a friendly knock with a few guys I knew from the club.

Played a round on Sat, had a blast in a stableford and then turned up an hour early for my round on Sunday...

Or so I thought :D

...24 hours late for a tee time. That has to be some sort of record!

Turned up for a doctors appointment 24 hours early but that is about it. As for tee times, no need to book one so I just drink coffee until the rest of my group arrive.

They have a starter. What sort of posh club has Smiffy, sorry Mr K.Nob, joined ?:mmm:

We don't have a starter Richard. We have a pro. It was him that told me he thought I was early as I wasn't teeing off until 9.36. I got to the club at 8.00 thinking I was off at 8.36. Prat.
Bob suggested going to the practice ground for an hour.
I went up and had a sausage sandwich instead.

I missed a flight to london once as i was an hour late as i got the time wrong
No problem says i so i rebooked on the next flight and sat by thesame departure gate, it wasnt until 2 hours later that i realised i didnt check to see if the gate had changed.

cue going back to the desk to book a third flight, i got to the correct gate in plenty of time and got on the plane ...phew oh wait a minute the plane developed a fault and we sat on the tarmac for three hours before getting on another plane.

I got to london did what i had to do and missed the last flight home as i was stuck in a taxi.

hired a car and drove back to glasgow.....you couldnt make up that day from hell!!!

A few years back, the wife and I had about 5 weddings to attend over the summer months - late for every single one! Was straight out of Four Weddings and a Funeral and at one of them we actually passed the Bride in the entrance to the church just as the bridal march was staring to play. To cap it all it was the first catholic wedding I'd ever attended so at the end of the service when you turn to the people around you, shake their hands and say 'peace be with you' I misheard and thought it was 'pleased to meet you'; suffice to say that my response of 'pleased to meet you too. I'm Paul - see you at the reception' didn't exactly go down too well!! :o
