Westwood rehires Foster

Yes he should have never dropped him but I wonder if they can bury the hatchet?.....To be fair its not the caddy that's going to make Westy win a major.... its his putter!

It's all about the relationship! And so much of golf is 'in the head'

Chubby's statement about Billy knowing when to say something to Lee (and Lee being receptive) is the key.

I agree that Lee's 'woes' on/around the green and perhaps a little of fighting sparkle under pressure are his major restrictions.

I thought they went their separate ways regretfully and amicably and only because billy had a knee injury that required surgery and meant he couldn't handle Lee's schedule.
Is there even a hatchet to bury?

I think it's a good move for Lee to get him back now he's fit again.

I must say that was my understanding too, Stuey. That said, I really hope it makes a positive difference to his game.

That's exactly what happened

My apologies if this is the case, I seem to remember an itch that needed scratching between them for some reason.... maybe not.

He's a top caddie one the best ( I believe he had Seves bag amongst others) for a long time in the past. I hope Lee can pull it off with a major...but I think hes missed his opportunity to be honest. I hope I'm wrong but his short game is appalling.

Not quite as I remember... Westwood took on his new candy on a temporary basis, when Billy was on his way back he assumed that he would pick up he bag again... Billy had a set-back and couldn't make the start of the season and so Westwood said he was going to make his temporary caddie permanent and let Billy go. Wasn't quite a mutual decision and Billy had expected to be on the bag when he was fit. Not blaming Westwood, he had to look after himself, but there could have been a bit of a hatchet to bury. Billy expected to be back on the bag and got the call out of the blue...

Well that's not exactly how Billy himself said

Billy was unsure when he would be fully fit so even suggested Lee sort himself out for the season and then judge at the end of the season - that's exactly what has happened. That's from Billy himself

saw this quote from him, I guess he thought he would be back soon and that's when the call came... Although nothing I've read leads me to thinking Billy was sour about it, he maybe would keep that to himself though in any case.

“I can’t blame Lee for moving on. I’m big enough and brave enough to accept that. It just dragged on for months and months and just as I thought I was about to see the finishing line it was like having the legs kicked from under me. That is what hurt.”

Foster crocked his knee and it didn't recover in time for Westwood to play in 2014 so they went their separate ways. Foster got Brandon Grace's bag to get himself out there in the understanding it was only until the end of the season. Seems perfect for Westwood and Foster to get back together and hopefully they can move it up to the next level and get that major

Did not win a major together during all their time as a pair, cant see any reason why it will change now. Hope I am wrong but do not think Westwood will ever win a major.

Caddies cant win the majors. They can only give advice and then it's upto the player himself.

Westwood's problem to win lies deeper than his caddie.

Did not say they could. But having some kind of fanfare that Foster is back with Westwood is pointless really. I do not think it will make 1 bit of a difference. Yes he might still win events here and there but majors cannot see it ever happening.

Cant be denied though that they do gel well together which is vital for a player.
