Westwood and Foley part....?

Westwood used to be a very good player but I can't help think that he needs to chance club manufacture to improve his game rather than his coach, Ping are awful.

I don't know about that.

He's an absolute bomber off the tee. Not massive by tour standards but up there at 300 yard mark.

Golfers run in and out of form. Take you back to 2011 when he shot 69 to win by 7.

Fast forward to today and it's a different story. Everone knows Lee's weakness is on and around the greens. Tee to green he's fine.

I don't think Westwood's any way near the player he was,but I don't believe its his clubs its his ego, falls out with people over nothing ie Billy Foster,Pete Cowan and now Shawn Foley,he wants too step up to the plate a bit more often and let is golfing do the talking for a change, the way he's playing he'll be kissing the Ryder Cup bye bye..

One of things I would suggest about Westwood ( after speaking to Billy Foster ) is he is very very grounded and nothing of any suggestion of an ego

He didn't "fall out" as such with Billy and when players and coaches split it's not always a "fall out"

Golfers swap coaches regularly in the search for the missing element.

Westwood will click again once he finds his rhythm again

Yep, Maybe Lee just feels he has taken everything that Sean has to offer. I am sure a pro like Lee can adapt pretty quickly so I would think they can get through a far bit of the Foley syllabus each session.

For sure Foley/Rose is a great combo.

I hope your right and that he does find his rhythm, but he still needs that putter to be working, you can name the "a" list of golfing guru's out there, but its Lee who's gonna do the putting.

Westwood looking to change his swing etc by going to foley was at best an error but at least he was covering his options.
he gets grief about his short game but it has Improved since his move state side and hopefully it will continue.
club manufacturer has nowt to do with it imo he has been with ping for his whole career he had a bad year by his standarda hopefully thats all

For a top class player he's still doesn't win enough in the states, regarding money, Steve Williams earned more, and he's got no short game at all.smoke and mirrors that's all it is.

Winning in the states isn't the be all and end all no matter what people say

It's overrated target golf on soft courses - it has more money - more money doesn't mean it's better.

39 tournament wins says he is a top player

Westwood bizarrely stands up on the downswing, then strangely tries to compensate by ducking down and going further than his original address position.

Ive heard Foley say a few things that are technically inaccurate, e.g. regarding the biomechanical sequence. Not rocket science.
