Going to playa de rocha soon and want some advice on courses.

short listed are
Vale de Milho - Caroeiro
Silves
Pinta - silves
Penina - Portimao
Morgado - Portimao
Gramacho -
Alto Golf
Alamos
Palmares
Boavista
Parque de Floresta.

Any one got any experience, recommendations of any of these?

Also, what sort of quality are the clubs for hire as I am still deciding whether to take or hire

Have played Morgado and Parque de Floresta.

Prefer Morgado it is a decent layout and the welcome was superb,PdeF is also pretty good but not out of the top drawer.

Carvoeiro Pinta and Gramacho both really nice along with Palmares and Boavista give Penina a widebirth as each time over the last 5 years I have played there the place has been in awful condition. Also heard that the new Faldo designed track at Silves is good so enjoy plenty of great tracks along that way!

Played palmares 3times a few years ago.Do not go into clubhouse at ninth as you may not come back out!!!!Met a guy from Aberdeen on our complex and arranged to go and play, got taxi, paid fees, played front nine in nine over-so far so good-spent 60 mins. in clubhouse and we both dumped something like 8 balls in the pond on the 10th.Apart from that it,s a good track!!!!!!!!!!

not sure you have right course as no pond on 10th at Palmares......dont go to Val de Miho VIG as it is crap, crap course crap condition, nowt more tha a pitch and putt really. Also would recommend Alto for twighlight as often have very cheap deals on this time of year and course ok.

just got back from a week at PENINA. all i can say is i thought it was amazing. the facilities and the course itself. i'd advise on using a buggy though cos it was seriously hot!
as for the club's clubs they looked pretty good to me although i took my own.

great to hear Penina was great,it is a fantstic golf course layout wise but every time I have been the condition has been awful so great to hear all is well at the old paddy fields. :)
