Has anyone playd the above? Travelling up to play the Belfry Thursday morning and found the course online with an attractive rate £30 total for two and a buggy.

18th looks interesting!

I've played it once, that was enough.

I might be available Thursday as Srixon1 ((Steve) is travelling up and playing at mine, if the times suit, it could become a fourball?

Which course did you want to make the fourball for?

just in case not clear. Playing Belfry Thursday morning. 0810.
Have West Midlands Wednesday at 1400 as travelling up from Kent after the school run

Sorry, thought you were travelling up Thursday morning, I could have got you on my course, Coventry GC.

Sorry, should have made it clearer. That'll teach me for starting a thread towards the end of a night shift.

Thank you you for the kind offer. If ever I'm back up your neck of the woods I'd certainly let you know.

Its pants mate. . If your going the belfry then Maxstoke is well worth a round. . How many rounds you playing at the belfry? What course?

Just the one, the Brabazon.
its already booked also (west midlands). Decided to go for a cheaper option for Wednesday afternoon so won't be too gutted if traffic problems arise and we miss it.

Some pretty funky holes.....

Par 3 that is elevated by maybe 50 feet with the flag being about 100 yards away on top a comedy duel level green

Two of our four ball took putter from the tee and made the green.

The front 9 is very tight with a lot of blind tee shots and approaches.

the 18th is a fun hole obviously and is Sawgrass 17th in design. My one memory was hitting my PW right at the pin and in flight looked like it had Ace written all over it, only to see my ball splash just off the back of the green. I was dumbfounded as it was a hot day with no wind and it was right on my yardages for PW.

Only then did i realise id pulled my 9 out the bag like an idiot and somehow confused P with 9....

idiot

Its an ok course but is defo in the "funky" category

That's a blinding offer.

I'm waiting on the pro to get back to me re cancellation. Although may just write the money off.

Are there Tees around 2pm available as I think that's about when we will get there. Traffic dependant could be as early as 1230 but doubt that very much.

It's funny isn't it. West Midlands is the course that got me into golf and I really like it. Even now 5 years later I'll always go back there.

Will probably never go back there tbh...

I'd pay the green fee, play the 18th then get back in the car and go home. When I last played there, April 2014, there were no fairways! They hadn't been cut in so long and you could barely make out the green (apart from the flag!) against the rest of the field that it is situated in. Hopefully it will mature over time, but I certainly wasn't impressed with it either. No wonder they gave us free pie and chips afterwards!

Well, all done and relaxing before the Brabazon tomorrow tonight.

My thiughs on on the course are that for the price we paid it was a pleasant eniugh course. A few holes were similar, a very short par 3 which wasn't to special.

But id play there again, greens seemed to run well and fairways were ok.
