It looks like I'm going to be moving back to the UK, with the plan to move to the West London area (maybe Ealing...).

I've never lived in that area before, has anyone got any advice on golf courses to try out. I would look to becoming a member and am after a nice course, open all year, competitions (preferably drawn) and roll-ups (won't know anyone in the area to begin with).

Had a look on the Ealing golf club website and looks a good course... Right on the limits of what I'm looking at paying though (it's around £1,800 for 7 day membership)

Any advice would be appreciated!

Ealing is good but very noisey a40 running along side it, wyke and sudbury both good but eling just pips them but my pick would definitely be pinner hill, great course and club

Ealing is where one of the KoK games is being played and I think Jimbob Someroo is a member and he rates it very highly

Yup, I'm a member at Ealing and think it's a great little club. Best condition by far of any of the courses in that area albeit a bit more expensive.

It is near the A40 but very rarely notice the noise and only two holes run anywhere near it. The tube line that runs down the side of Wyke is much louder - especially with the drivers trying to toot their horns mid-swing!

They've introduced a 'lifestyle' membership at Ealing which is quite a bit cheaper and gives you a certain number of credits to play if you're not going to be playing every week. Not sure about age but they've also just changed the incremental membership up to mid 30's I believe. Plenty of teams to get involved with as well if you like.

Feel free to PM me if you want to know anything else!

Avoid Grimsdyke Golf Club. It is short, quirky, and apparently very wet and muddy in winter. All the other clubs mentioned are OK. You might also want to consider a few clubs near Heathrow Airport - Airlinks, Thorney Park, Stockley Park and Richings Park. All close to main roads or motorways, so might be a bit noisy.

Thanks again, all. I'll look into those mentioned. Thanks Jimbob, I'll definitely pop you a message nearer the time (the move is at least 3 months away). Unfortunately as I'm 35 I miss out on most of the offers for cheaper membership.
