Anyone played either of these 2 courses?

Going for a weekend start of November i am staying 30mins form West Linton and 10 mins from Peebles. Both courses are same price.

Any comments on which i should play would be appreciated.

Cheers

have played west linton and know pro team there.... Gareth taught me to play the game a few years ago. great track usually in tip top condition. great views as well. some really interesting holes.

not played peebles but a work colleague has and he says it's nice, if a bit exposed.

Haven't played peebles.

West linton is a good test and was in great nick when I played it 2-3 months ago. One of the hardest finishes you'll find. A 444 plus par 4, a 196 par 3, 230 par 3 finish.Easyish start but generally enjoyable.

Score well on the front 9, as the finish is hard.

Played West Linton only this morning, in a three club wind and driving rain, but loved the course! :D
Am playing there in a society day on Sunday, so wanted a sneaky look round first! Great course and in excellent nick, despite the worst of the Scottish weather. Two for one vouchers accepted against the midweek day rate of £40, so only £20 each.

Which par 3 did you gain the wind from and which did you lose it from on the last 2 holes ? They must have been tough in a 3 club wind. Dont tell me driver to the 17th, 7 iron to the 18th????

Very close! Blustery wind meant 3 wood on 17 and 5 iron on 18. I was short on 17 and pin high, but left on 18.

did you finish par, par. If so I'll take my hat off to you. I think one over for them 2 holes, is also admirable, even with no wind.

played both courses and would pick west linton over peebles

although peebles is a good course greens were great when i was there but it was a bit open on a few holes.

west linton as seen before one of the best finishes i have played. greens were great considering how much rain fell few days previous but some tough holes on this course
