West Lancs

You'll probably find yourself with a lot of long approach shots especially on the front 9, hitting and holding the greens is tough.
My advice would be to work on a little bump and run for around the greens with a 7 or 8 iron and also your bunker play.

Id also say long irons/ hybrids are important but IMO the short game around there is more essential. It's very tough and greens in reg' are hard to come by, the front 9 there is pretty brutal. Im sure you'll enjoy it though :D

So in a few words you need to do everything very well :D

Need to get back there i reckon for a rerun. I bets its so brutal in summer conditions.

Don't hit it on to the practice ground off the first tee.
Wrap up warm. It's always cold.
Mainly, have fun. It's a tough course that requires a decent all round game. Practice whatever you think is the weakest part of your game.

I wouldn't mind another crack at it, I quite fancy that Ted Jarman 36 holer

Me too, £45 for 36 holes around there is bargain. Sadly im not good enough for them to let me chop it around there for 36 holes in one day yet :D

I didn't realise there was a H'cap limit, You never know if you start the season well
Ive just had a look, looks like you have to send an App' form to enter and the main prizes are for best Gross scores. Still a great deal at £45 though.

I will certainly be giving it a go mate :D

Could do with the season starting asap though before the magic wears off

It was our exchange day there last September. Glorious sunshine, warm and no wind. I also beat HID on one hole with no handicap allowance:)

Play in one of the opens there every year with a few mates (April this time - and no, we're not one of the last groups out that magically win all the time). 4BBB for £25pp. Can't go wrong. Lovely track, can get hard if the wind picks up but it sets us up nicely for the season.

You need to bring your A game to score well round here.

Think I played the Ted Jarman a couple of years ago I think it was limited 3-10 handicaps or something like that which was a bit odd but suited me! Paid £40 for 36 holes, for a course of that quality it'd be daft not to!
