I played West Hill today in their mixed foursomes competition. Those playing in the H4H day will be delighted to hear it's in fantastic condition

I can't imagine it ever looks anything but great, and if the purple stuff is vibrant, it will look stunning.

Theres no doubt the course will be in a good condition but having played it twice once with the bracken in bloom and once without and once with leaves on the trees and once without it is a much better looking course in bloom imo.

Yes I'm not looking forward to renewing my previous acquaintance with the heather, especially off the 3rd, where upon the first time I played in an H4H event, I was nervous as hell, physically shaking and I managed to top my first shot 15yds into the heather, with several others watching, Fragger you should remember that one as well, as I seem to remember a little mix up in balls once onto the fairway.

Doubt if there will be much flowering heather in October. You need to play end of August beginning of September for that. The trees should be nice though with the autumn colours. This horticultural report is brought to you by Percy Thrower.

I can see a little bit of colour still from when we last played, although Nick was spraying the sand about that day so it all took a more browny look :smirk:
