Wergs Golf Club, nr Wolves

I'm looking at joining a golf club; I want to play in comps, get a handicap and enjoy the benefits that membership brings, ie, unlimited golf, social aspect, playing with better players etc.

I've balked at some of the fees I've seen, ie, anywhere from £700-£1200 at courses in the area. However, I've noticed that Wergs have a 2 years for the price of 1 offer. £660 for full membership for 2 years.

Sounds too good to be true! Does anyone have much experience of Wergs? I played it a few years ago (nearly 20 years now, had a 15 year break from golf in that time!) and it was nice from what I can remember.

Any thoughts welcome.

You do have to wonder if the other local clubs can demand a higher fee why is it so cheap ?

True, but the recent reviews are quite good! I'll have to go along and have a look.

Is club membership worth it? I quite enjoy playing different courses but I know I'm missing out on some of the benefits.

Wergs was new twenty years ago and raw. It had small trees between fairways. Some holes had great potential from what I remember. Test it out. Other. local clubs are older so fees are higher., but quality is good.
