I had a fantastic time at Wentworth on Saturday and Sunday, the whole experience was superb. The thing that amazed me, which I dont think you can appreciate watching television, is the distances being hit, how high the ball flight is, and how consistently accurate the professionals are. They really are amazingly skilled, and seeing them in the flesh really hammers it home. Fantastic.

Fiends went down Thursday and said the biggest eye opener for them was the way they moved the ball around to suit positions and hole shapes.

I'm off to the Scottish open in July, can't wait,

Didn't get to go this year :(

But what amazed when I first started going to the PGA on a Thursday, is how rubbish many of the top golfers can play! I would see tops, thins, s class, thins, shanks, slices, big hooks, putts that got nowhere near the hole etc etc . Everything that happens to us. Big names too

But on TV you only see the guys playing well.

Indeed, you really need to see them live to appreciate some of their talent.

And their short games are rather phenomenal! On that course, you can see how deep the bunkers are too!

But TV is still the best way to watch 'the tournament' imo. It actually adds something - sort of like moving pieces on a chess board - that I miss when watching live.

The TV cameras really dont show the undulations on the fairways, the low boom cam is half decent on the greens,

ive been there on the sunday 2 years running and watched it on the telly yesterday , you certainly see more action on the TV, but that atmosphere...cant beat it....apart from the Ryder Cup :)

Avery very good well run tournament, we should have more

They're only hitting a a ball with a metal ended stick......... Just how difficult can it really be?? :one:

Went 4 days out of the 5. Was amazing and really enjoyed it. Didn't really think they hit the ball that far and wasn't amazed by how they hit the ball.

Their short game is absolutely top class.

Have to be honest and say i thought the way they did the bunkers was practically cheating, i thought they were meant to be a hazard?!

Also pretty sure the ball hit Bjorn when it came back off the bunker, was stood next to him when it happened.

I was there yesterday to for the 4th year in a row and I never get tired of watching the top pros play such a stunning course.

It was also nice to see Storm hit a full on shank on the range and Robert Rock top it down the fairway about 80 yards on the 1st.

Hope for me yet! :)
