Thought I would get in some serious practice leading up to Sunday. I was so good that I have probably used up all my best golf so Sunday will be rubbish! :D

4 hrs casually on the range today, space between shots, drives 240 into head breeze most of them straight or gentle draw, then a good few
long iron or hybrid shots that were spot on.Only shots messed up were long clubs and only about 4 of them

Then went from SW to Hybrid hitting just 70yds to centre of green, put more than half on the green, holed two, good few on fringe, then bunker work trying different bunker shots all of which came out, many around the pin (some nearly holed)we are talking 60 balls used and retrieved twice, though only about 20 bunker shots, finished off on the putting green with three balls putting worthy of a pro (still want my veasy Bob, I recon I could master this method with it :D

4 hour's? sorry my boredom level would be having me kick the balls off the mat.
No way could I survive that long at the range! Do you feel the real need to stay that long?

I was at the range tonight for an hour with the rest of the boy's, an hour was more than plenty for me!

Well I hardly ever use ranges, I have to be in the right mood and have an objective to which I commit and concentrate. When things are going great in anything someone does, time will just fly by.

Feeling the need is not the issue, having a purpose/objective and enjoying the success makes time irrelevant, if time becomes important to anyone who may practice on a range, it maybe isnt worth the effort.

I will wager that the time I spent today has proved more fruitful than the 10 or 20 times many golfers visit ranges for an hour at a time, I probably will not use a range again for months other than the odd couple of shots before a round yet not every time I play.

HID wanted the car on Friday so I thought i'd go to the club , she dropped me off at 9 am and picked me up at 2 pm , didnt step foot on the course but put in some quality work on the range. I was good for nothing that afternoon i can tell you , just sat there with my feet up with an ice cold beer.

Quality not quantity. Its all about practicing the right stuff and not ingraining gbad habits or old swing faults. I played 18 today and then worked on my putting and bunker play for a while and the pro came by and gave me a few freebie pointers.

WB mono.

I tend to spend about 3-4 hours on our range. Some weeks I don't want to be on the course but just practice the range is grass and take your own balls so some of that time is collecting balls. Generally 90mins on full SW-20* shots at about 10 each (more on the 7i thought) then 10, 20, 30, 40 & 50 yard shots onto the pitching green for about 90mins and 30mins putting or until I get the 6th sense of HID's wrath.

I have a leisurely 50 balls on the local range every Sunday morning. This takes about 30 - 40 minutes. Any more than this and I get bored and distracted. My intention is to reinforce the teaching I am having with my club pro.
I think it is starting to work. :p
